Ideas for a holiday memory book

It’s that time of year again where we start to head off on a much-needed holiday. It’s a time to unwind and take a break from the stresses of everyday life. You can also get that family time together and create memories that will last forever. Whether you go somewhere in this country or abroad, the holiday will be a memorable and fun occasion for you all. It’s always a good idea to save the memories of the special holiday for you to look back at and to show the kids one day. Therefore, you should consider making a holiday memory book. It’s a sweet way to reminisce about the holiday and to keep all the holiday bits together in one place. Here are some ideas for a holiday memory book.

Save your tickets

When creating a holiday memory book, you should make sure that you create pockets on the pages that you can put keepsakes like tickets from days out while you were on your break. After all, you can then remember exactly where you went and what you saw while you were on holiday. You don’t want to forget you visited a certain place when you are retelling the stories of the holiday to your kids in years to come.

Add those pictures

While you might put the photos from your holiday in a photo album or share them on your social media, it’s also a good idea to place them in your holiday memory book. You can stick the photos down on the pages and then write around these photos. Just make sure you place them sparingly in your memory book so there is room for other keepsakes from the trip.

Write about each day

While pictures will tell your story of your trip, words can help your family to reminisce about those all important moments. Therefore, take the time to write about each day of your holiday. Write about those significant moments that you will want to remember in years to come. Even if it’s a few words that spark a memory, it will make the memory book even more special. You might want to dedicate a page to each day and then you can add photos and keepsake while also writing about what you did.

Decorate with stickers and gems

It’s always a good idea when creating a memory book to add some stickers and gems to the pages. They can often help you to show off a memory from your holiday and will add a touch of fun to your memory book. It’s also something the kids can get involved with and will keep them busy when creating the book.

Add chapters every year

The holiday memory book doesn’t have to be just for that year. If you go for a large scrapbook, you could have further chapters from other holidays. This is a great way to see how your family has changed over the years. And will allow you to have all your memories from special holidays in one place.

Remember to get the whole family to contribute so that its something you can look back at together fondly.
